Dýrafjörður, Westfjords, Iceland
A 100 years ago Dýrafjörður was a bustling hot spot for foreign expedition teams as they came in to resupply and have their ships serviced in Þingeyri's world-class metal workshop. One of them was Fridtjof Nansen's team who stayed here for a couple of weeks before embarking on their historic crossing of the Greenland ice cap.
